From the period of the Three States, Muan had been a home for Onggi (earthenware) and pottery. Buncheong celadon and Onggi (earthenwares) are produced until today by using traditional techniques. While celadon, white porcelain and Onggi (earthenware) were produced in Muan, it is the home for Buncheong celadon of Korea.
Muan's Buncheong that largely influenced porcelain production in Japan after the Japanese invasion of Korea in 1592, creates liberal lines and patterns that harmonize with the spirit of the nature, showing extreme beauty reminiscent of the nature. This is where you can join the porcelain workshop by putting your heart and soul into clay and fire, and tea ceremony.
