the Specialized Aviation Industrial Complex can be a future promising industry in the region so Muan-gun, Jeallanam-do has eagerly processed this project. And the construction of the site will be completed by the end of this year.
So, Kim san, the chief of Muan-gun started his first day work of 2022 at the construction site of the aviation industry.
The purpose of his visit reflects his will to do his best to proceed and successfully complete the development project which will be a future growth engine of this county for the next 100 years.
On the 3rd, Kim san chief of Muan-gun had an opening ceremony at 9 o'clock following the visit to the Memorial Tower at 8:30.
Immediately at 10:30 a.m., it started by receiving the first job of the new year at the Specialized Aviation Industrial Complex under construction near Muan International Airport.
Following a briefing by Lee Kwang-jin, head of the regional economy department, Mr. Kim asked about the expropriation of partially unexploited land and said “Please make every effort to the end to negotiate with the owners during the land expropriation process,” and “There are concerns about the delay in the construction progress, so please proceed with the construction as soon as possible, but pay attention to safety.”
Manager Lee Kwang-jin said, "We will complete civil engineering work before the rainy season in June, install hangers, and have it completed by the end of this year." and “We will pay more attention to discussions on the progress of the deposit of unexploited land.”
This aviation related MRO zone that Muan-gun has been processing costs 44.8 billion won and it’s size is 350,000㎡ nearby Muan International Airport.
Muan MRO will be fostered as a industrial zone for regular maintains, repairs, assemble and disassemble aircraft for the safe operation of airplane.
In addition, not only aviation maintenance companies, but also various aviation-related industries such as aircraft parts, logistics, and aircraft information service are expected to move into the Aviation Industrial Complex.
To this end, Muan-gun signed an agreement with International Aviation Maintenance Co., Ltd. and FL Technics last year to establish a cooperative system such as MRO maintenance, system education such as facility, equipment and technical support, and providing advice.
In addition, it signed an agreement with Seohae District Coast Guard for a sale plan in the Aviation Industrial Complex for the establishment of an integrated aviation base and an investment agreement with four companies including parts and in-flight meal manufacturing.
Currently, Korea's dependence on foreign aircraft maintenance is about 54%, and the scale is more than 1.3 trillion won.
Its dependence on foreign countries is very high and the number of domestic aviation maintenance companies is insufficient.
Therefore, when the Specialized Aviation Industrial Complex is established, it will increase the domestic market share of the aviation maintenance and logistics industry, attract excellent companies that actively utilize Muan International Airport's infrastructure, provide quality jobs, and revitalize the local economy, as well as future growth engines of Muan expected to play a role.
Kim san, the chief of Muan-gun said, “When the Specialized Aviation Industrial Complex is completed at the end of this year, It is expected to be reborn as a mecca of the aviation industry that aviation maintenance, aviation logistics, and in-flight catering companies will move in” and “We will do our best to create a vibrant Muan where young people come to visit, a happy city where people want to live, and a region where dream comes true with bright future".
“We are also promoting services to designate the Muan Specialized Aviation Industrial Complex as a nationally designated industrial complex with a size of 1.4 million ㎡,” he added.
